Challenge: Create a furniture plan in an awkward Living Room; refine a large Dining area, add kitchen and mudroom storage.
Evaluations on paper exposed the direction on how to create a living room which functions better. By shifting two door openings we accommodated two seating areas – one for family TV nights; the other for expanded entertaining or the monthly book club.
The kitchen lacked storage and the dining room lacked architectural interest. We designed a large built-in buffet (which doubles as a desk surface) with generous storage cabinets on both ends.
The subtle furniture fabrics are accented by the large rug pattern, and a custom-colored coffee table. The Lighthouse painting is by Charlestown artist, Joe Trepiccione.
Fun fact: The left side of the dining room cabinet is “faux”. It is actually the back side of a mudroom storage.
